On 21 January 2023, the Alliance against Imperialist Aggression, with the participation of different anti-imperialist organisations, held a manifestation near the Hamburg Central Station. The action was in the light of the week of action for the release of Ahmad Sa'adat, in the course of which numerous actions have already been carried out all over the world. The manifestation demanded the release of Ahmad Sa'adat as well as all political prisoners in Palestine, highlighted the great struggle of the Palestinian people against imperialism and occupation and spoke for the national liberation of Palestine.

This year again the LLL demonstration took place in Berlin in January. While this annual event is primarily a showdown of the various forces of the revolutionist movement in the FRG, this year the Maoists had a different message: the International Communist League - ICL was founded! A manifold international contingent proclaimed this historic message at the demonstration, fulfilling the demand that had been made in the previous years at the same demonstration - also in the struggle: For the new organization of the international proletariat!

The police have been clearing Lützerath since the early hours of Wednesday. The small village in North Rhine-Westphalia with just seven houses is roughly situated between Aachen and Düsseldorf - but above all it lies directly inside of RWE's brown coal mining area. January 7 marked the 18th anniversary of the murder of Oury Jalloh. Oury Jalloh was burned alive in his prison cell at the Dessau police station in 2005 in an attempt by the cops to cover up their brutal torture of him. Afterwards, they alleged that he set himself on fire, but independent investigative work proved this to be physically impossible. The conviction of Oury's murderers to this day has been completely blocked by the state.
