NRK reports that researchers have again raised the alarm about the climate crisis. Research shows a more rapid reduction of snowfall and winters than previously estimated, and that this will have an even more dramatic effect on the environment. NRK writes:

Sea level rise and the loss of ecosystems in the oceans and along the coasts pose a great risk to the life basis for many people. Many low-lying high-population cities and small island nations will experience extreme annual sea level rise incidents within 2050, even with lower emissions.

Climate crisis and environmental destruction are systematic problems. At root is the manner in which production occurs in capitalism. It has its roots in the fundamental contradiction of capitalism itself, namely: that production is socialized, while appropriation is capitalistic. In other words, this means that the forces of production have become enormous and that all production today occurs in an integrated process. Today Turkey launched its thoroughly prepared assault on Syria with their attacks on YPG bases in the country, violating the sovereignty of the country and international (bourgeois) law. Yet again under the guise of “combating terrorism” Syria is hurled into further instability. Yankee imperialism, after supporting the YPG and its affiliated forces has declared them to be fair game with the withdrawal of their support and their troops, opening up the space for the Turkish military to attack, as was clear to everyone ever listening to the plainly stated intentions of Turkeys President Erdogan.

Last Wednesday and Thursday, Ecuadorian President Moreno was scheduled the to visit the FRG and meet with chancellor Merkel. His visit, however, fell flat when turmoil took Ecuador by storm last week following the application of IMF dictates hugely impacting the lifes of most Ecuadorians. Since then, hundreds of protesters and police have been injured in ongoing clashes between the police and army on one side and the poor peasantry and deepest and broadest masses from the cities on the other side. Ecuador is currently under the State of Emergency, with a nation-wide General Strike declared for upcoming Wednesday.
