Anti Imperialist Action Ireland held a day of action in Galway today against US Imperialism in Ireland, highlighting the presence of the US War Machine in Ireland.

Starting with a campaign stall on Shop Street, the Socialist Republican activists distributed hundreds of leaflets engaging passers by on the issue with a very enthusiastic reception from the people of Galway, who are clearly opposed to the use of Shannon by NATO forces.

Following the stall the activists held a banner drop with a large banner that read US Out of Ireland. Again, support was very evident with passing motorists beeping there horns.

Finishing the day of action, the Socialist Republicans then delivered hundreds of campaign leaflets around the Innishannagh estate in the west of Galway City, taking the campaign against US Imperialism directly to working class homes and communities.

Anti Imperialist Action Ireland are building an all Ireland campaign against US Imperialism in Shannon. We are also building the Socialist Republican presence across Galway City and County.

In Reims, France, militants of the TKP/ML have hung a banner for the freedom and defence of the health of Chairman Gonzalo with the slogan "Let's defend the life of Chairman Gonzalo!" above a central highway. A statement by the militants said that solidarity actions for the defence of Chairman Gonzalo's life and for his freedom will be intensified.

Recently, the TV channel ARTE released a documentary on the situation of artists in Spain. Since the "Citizen Protection Law" came into force in 2015, popularly known as the Muzzling Law, freedom of expression has been increasingly restricted, especially in the field of culture.

On Saturday 28 August - one year after the death of the Turkish lawyer of the people Ebru Timtik - a memorial demonstration was held in Magdeburg for the martyrs Helin Bölek, Mustafa Kocak, Ebru Timtik and Ibrhaim Gökcek who died in hunger strike.

The NRW-wide alliance "Stop the Assembly Law" called for the second large-scale demonstration on August 28. Between 4000-5000 demonstrators from all over NRW came to Düsseldorf that day. Alone 700 participants of different revolutionary organizations formed the anticapitalist-internationalist block. A contingent of German and Turkish revolutionaries also participated together in this block.
