We forward the publication from Antifascist Action on the ocasion of the 25th of November.

Around the world, women used the 25th of November, the International Day against Violence against Women, to carry their justified protest and struggle to the streets, in Austria as well. Editors of the „Antifaschistische Aktion – Infoblatt“ took part in this year’s demonstration in Vienna. It was a very lively and loud demonstration, that attracted much attention. The day before, various actions and protests were set against a march of the clerical-fascist abortion opponents in Vienna.

Positively noticed was the internationalist demonstration, involving many migrants and slogans in different languages. This reflects the intensified oppression of the migrant women, who are particularly affected by the attacks of the ruling class. Especially strong was that the demonstration was attended by a strong contingent of red women, wearing a banner reading „Down with Patriarchy and Imperialism.“ These were noticeable by a good, combative mood and they contributed many slogans in the demonstration, which were then shouted by large parts of the demonstration. Slogans against the 12-hours working day and Patriarchy were demonstrating, that violence against women is not only individual, but is organized by the state and is directed against all women. Patriarchy is expressed thousands of times a day in the „own four walls“, but above all it is a harsh instrument of domination against the masses of women.

The main purpose of this demonstration was to demonstrate that, in addition to the legitimate and necessary protest against the attacks of the government and against the brutal individual violence against women, there must be an intensified struggle against patriarchy. An activist of the Red Women’s Committee Austria, said in a conversation to us: „Thousands of women have participated in the protests against the government in the last year, against the 12–hours working day, against the EU-Alliance, … that shows that many women already today don‘t believe the lies of „weak“ and „unpolitical“ women. The pioneers of the proletarian women’s movement in Austria have also shown this: they have consciously also made the lead of the revolutionary struggle. This year marks the 100 anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party Austria. Above all, we must learn from the experiences of the proletarian women’s movement and use the 25th of November to better understand proletarian feminism, the revolutionary line in the women’s movement, and put it into practice. For only the revolutionary struggle will drive forward the emancipation of women and support the creation of a Communist Party. „

At the demonstration a leaflet of the Red Women’s Committees Austria was distributed, which can be read as text already online: Down with Patriarchy! Get organized in the Red Women’s Committees!

The numerous slogans that contributed to a combative mood at the demonstration and were shouted together by large parts of the demonstration, also demonstrated the need to fight against the fragmentation of the women’s movement in Austria. The fight against patriarchy and imperialism, as well emphasized in the above-mentioned leaflet, means „not ‚cooking everyones own soup‘ regionally. Learning from each other’s experience and mistakes, bringing the struggles together and putting them on a common base, will make the development of a women’s movement in the service of the revolution even more powerful. „

Above all, the red women, who have already united on the basis of Proletarian Feminism, showed that there is already a force in the women’s movement in Austria that takes up this struggle. For all conscious feminists and red women, this demonstration should also be an occasion to take up even more the mobilization of women for the struggle not only for their daily demands, but also against patriarchy and imperialism. This year’s 25th of November should be a starting point to take on these tasks even more decisively in the upcoming actions and demonstrations and put them into practice.
We would like to record here two slogans, that have been distributed on the demo, for the upcoming struggles:

Against Imperialism and Patriarchy!

Proletarian Feminism for Communism!

More than 80,000 workers and youths stopped France in a wave of protests against the economic measures of the Macron government on 24 November.
The protests as well as the repression were extremely violent. Police attempted to arbitrarily stop the march of thousands of people with water jets and tear gas bombs as they tried to break through a cordon of isolation that would lead to the house of the prime minister of the country.

Demonstrators – youth, proletarians and workers with petty-bourgeois living conditions – fought back repression by attacking police cars and big companies shops.

"Mr. Macron has accelerated the fall of his people since he was elected. We want a radical change or the dismissal of Macron, "said a protestor named Cynthia, a 31-year-old worker, in an interview with Portuguese news agency Público. She also denounced that he withdrew taxes "to further enrich the rich."

Five police officers and 19 protesters were injured in the end. A week earlier, November 17, more than 280,000 people took to the streets for the same reason.

THE MEASURES OF MACRON

The measures that are being applied by the government of Macron refer to increase taxation that consumes the salary of the masses while promoting tax exemption for corporations and big bourgeois.

The trigger for the protests was the fuel boom as a result of these Macron policies. What began as a multitudinous economic movement has become widespread and today calls for the Macron government to leave and harshly criticizes the entire political system, parliament and bourgeois democracy itself

On occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Communist Party of Austria a combative celebration took place in Vienna, organized by the Committee 3rd of November.

We mirror the report on the festivity that was published by comrades of Antifa Infoblatt in both English and German:

3rd of November 2018: 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of Austria

On 3rd of November 1918, in the mids of stormy years of revolution, which affected the workers and people all over Europa, the founding congress of the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ) took place in Vienna / Favoriten the 10th district. Around 50 people joined to take this step, which should become very important in the history of the Austrian workers‘ movement, but also internationally.

100 years later, that historic event was legitimately celebrated! Readers and correspondents of the „Afa-Info Sheet“ visited on that special day various events which were held in Vienna on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party: The celebration of today’s Communist Party of Austria, those of the Labor Party (PdA) and those of the 3rd November Committee. We are going to report on the first two in the November edition of our info sheet, but about the third one we will go into more detail right now, because we feel that one followed the spirit of all those Communists who founded the party 100 years ago and which led and defended it up to the 1950th as a Communist Party. At that time, the founders of the KPÖ recognized that the working class in Austria had no party of its own and concluded that the founding of the party must be the first step in the further development of the proletarian revolution in Austria. Despite difficult circumstances, under which the birth of the KPÖ took place, their founders announced in November 1918 full of revolutionary optimism:

„Workers! Our hour has come! Our will is ready for action! Woe to us if we let the hour pass useless! (…) Workers! Comrades! We founded the Communist Party. It wants the takeover of today’s economy and political power by the masses of the working people!“

This revolutionary optimism was also vividly expressed in the celebration of the 3rd November Committee. The celebration of the 3rd November Committee was held in Vienna with the participation of numerous activists and visitors from different parts of Austria. The very diverse composition of the visitors was particularly positive, from young to old, as well as the high proportion of migrants. What connected all the visitors, was the common historical reference point of 1918, and also today’s shared experiences in protests, struggles and initiatives: the effort to move forward in the class struggle and to make a contribution to the revolution and the revolutionary party in Austria. This was expressed not only in the enthusiasm of the visitors and in the discussions and talks in the breaks, but was above all in the contributions. These ranged from theater, to chants, musical interludes, to video presentations and collages. In addition, there was a video message from revolutionary youths and a message from maoist communists, both of which conveyed a great deal of seriousness and fighting spirit and were well- received. Above the stage was a banner with the inscription: „Everything for the revolution! Everything for the revolutionary party! „It was reflected in all contributions that this attitude finds expression in all big and seemingly small issues, including everyday politics. For Example that was shown by a very successful contribution, which was held by migrants and stood against the state racism.

The clear message of the event, to put proletarian internationalism first, also tied in well with the principles on which the founding of the party took place in 1918. Karl Steinhard, the founder of the KPÖ, also was a founding member of the Communist International in March 1919, which was founded and led by Lenin. It was also the KPÖ under whose leadership thousands of volunteers from Austria hurried to the aid of the Hungarian Soviet Republic and later of the Spanish Republic, when they were threatened by reaction and fascism. These are just a few examples that organizers and visitors have highlighted to show that „the Communist Party must always develop in the service of the world revolution“, like one speaker said. As another important principle the importance of women for the revolution had an important role in the event. Militant and proletarian feminists made various political and cultural contributions to the event and also very well represented the importance of revolutionary theory. For example, the brochure „Long Live the Proletarian Feminism!“ was advertised very successfully. Red women made and presented a collage of the history of the women’s movement from the founding of the KPÖ up to the present day. One female activist also made a large and extremely beautiful portrait of Erwin Puschmann, chairman of the domestic leadership of the KPÖ during fascism. Puschmann reorganized the Central Committee of the KPÖ under the extremely difficult conditions of Nazi fascism in Austria.

The room was decorated by the founder of the KPÖ, Karl Steinhard, as well as the aforementioned temporary domestic chairman Erwin Puschmann, so two central personalities of the KPÖ got an important place at the event. The images of the five most important international leaders of the working class, Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, W. I. Lenin, Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong, were also appropriate, which also expound the ideological basis of the organizers, Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. With the contributions, which showed excerpts of the political activity of various activists and initiatives, it became clear that the five classics were represented not only by images, but with each contribution, which contained the teachings of the same and gave an expression of an attitude that has been increasingly important in Austria for several years.

Full of pride and determination one activist from the event told us her impressions: “That truly was a historical evening! 100 years ago with the founding of the KPÖ the working class built it’s revolutionary party. Even it later was taken away from us by revisionism, it’s our heritage and I think that was shown well today. We want to use it positive today, to held to reconstitute the party. Have you seen the activists today? They ask to resume this task. That’s it what our spearheads had left to us! If we look at the image of Karl Steinhard in the middle of the stage, then we remember that he had given to us a clear order."

It is a special pleasure to us, that today, even the condition for revolution in many aspects are more inconvenient than 100 years ago, as many people gathered as at the foundation of the party. That left an remaining impression to the visitors and clearly showed, that the revolutionaries in Austria do not back off because of difficulties, but take up the troublesome legwork which has to be done to achieve the central slogan of the event: “Everything for Revolution! Everything for the Revolutionary Party!”

In that sense we want to give our heartily thanks to the organizers and everyone who contributed to the expression of that evening, that we could take part. As struggling antifascists we welcome that successful celebration for the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of Austria and want to recommend to all our reader to look closer at the strain of the revolutionaries to reconstitute the Communist Party!

In the following, we document a statment published by comrades of Tjen Folket Media in solidarity with the antifascist struggles:

Solidarity with militant antifascists!

Five antifascist were fined for disturbing the public peace. We send them our greetings in solidarity, and would also like to oppose those who point moralistic fingers at them.

We publish a Statement of the Editorial Staff of the Magazine Klassenstandpunkt on the occasion of 100 years of the November Revolution as well as pictures of a demonstration on this occasion which took place in Kiel:

Let us grasp the teachings of the proletariat, let us strengthen our efforts for the reconstitution of the Communist Party of Germany

Two times, the local of the fascist “Bastion Social” was attacked in the French City of Clermont-Ferrand. Flanked by similar actions in other cities such as Lyon and Marseille, comrades of the Revolutionary Youth and C.A.R.A. now managed to close the local in their city once and for all. With an official notice, the “Bastion Social” leadership on the 16th of October declared their retreat in an official declaration.

Recently, in Viena, three rappers were controlled by the police in a park, a racist policy carried out by the repressive apparatus of the state. This time the people refused to be humiliated by this racist approach and resisted it. They went then arrested. This event has ignited the so-called "Thursday Demonstrations" and many anti-fascist and democratic people gathered in the streets of Viena in a big demonstration. the website New Epoch states that:

"The so called „Thursday Demonstrations“ have a history in the recent antifascist struggle in Austria. Since a few weeks they got a revival and every week thausands of protestors join the demonstrations against the government in Vienna. Broad parts of the population join this demonstrations and show their anger and justified rebellion against the antidemocratic, repressive and also in parts open fascist politics of the government. Especially the consequent antifascist and revolutionary forces forwarded the demonstrations to an active and struggling expression and showed that the antifascist forces should trust in their own force."

In the images we can see that many red flags were present in the demonstration.16

On the night of the day before yesterday, activists of the Young Revolutionaries organization attacked the consulate of the reactionary Italian state in Marseille with paint and painted a slogan in support of the struggle for the release of political prisoner of the Red Brigades Nadia Lioce on the façade . Below is the opinion forwarded by the FRAP:

"Marseilles 12/10/18: The Young Revolutionaries take responsibility for the defacement of the consulate (litters with bottles and day) in solidarity to our comrade Nadia Lioce, political prisoner of the Red Brigades."

To be revolutionary is not a crime but a duty!

Freedom for Nadia Lioce!
