More than three decades have passed since the annexation of the GDR by the FRG. On the basis of this annexation, German imperialism has developed the aspiration to be able to make the leap to a superpower. The people in the "new" federal states have not only not benefited from this development, on the contrary. To put it bluntly, but extremely aptly: What use is it that we could buy bananas in the supermarket, if we can't afford to buy bananas?

Similarly, but with all kinds of sociological frippery, comes the formerly "Report on the State of Reunification", now "Report 2022 - East Germany. A New Look.“ is the report of the Federal Government Commissioner for Eastern Germany. The purely numerical material, however, is extremely remarkable because it succinctly expresses the crisis of imperialism, the crisis of bourgeois democracy:

" ... worries about the future are clearly increasing, while the ... citizens are increasingly dissatisfied with politics and democracy. ... Only about a quarter of those surveyed in the East and a third in the West are satisfied with social justice in Germany. ... only 36 % of respondents [are] satisfied with the measures taken by the German government in response to the war in Ukraine ... With democracy as it functions in Germany ... only 39% of East Germans are satisfied. ... a majority believe that the parties are "only interested in the votes of the voters", without being interested in their views. ... Only 43% of East Germans still believe that attitudes to politics in Germany can always be expressed freely "without getting into trouble". ... 32% of East Germans and 42% of West Germans think that ... politicians care about the welfare of our country. ... just as few people think that the European Union contributes to democracy in Germany or improves the standard of living ... 63% of East Germans think that East Germans are often treated as second-class citizens. ... A minority of 23% in the East and 33% in the West are (rather) satisfied with social justice in Germany. ... Only a third of those surveyed are currently (rather) satisfied with the policies of the federal government (35%) ... In the East, satisfaction with the federal government ... has now fallen to only 26%. ... Satisfaction ... with the policies of the state governments ... in the East ... 37 % and local government policy ... in the East ... 44 % ..."

So a majority is in opposition to the imperialist system and the tendency is for this to increase. The divisions of the masses pushed by the rulers is just an attempt to save their skin. These are extremely challenging as well as promising times for our cause, we only have to grasp them firmly.
