We publish an inofficial translation of a declaration by the Front for the Defence of the Struggles of the People Ecuador that was sent to us.

NO TO OPPORTUNISM, NO TO NEGOTIATION, NO TO CAPITULATION, YES TO STRUGGLE UNTIL THE BANKER IS REMOVED FROM OFFICE

Yesterday was a very combative day. We have entered a complex scenario, marked by a scenario in which the rank and file definitely outnumber the treacherous leadership. The masses do not want to wield and fight for the Agenda of National Struggle (10 points), they want the removal of Lasso.

The indigenous leadership does not take the issue of the dismissal seriously and calls for peaceful demonstrations. While this is happening, the regime ambushes the indigenous movement by handing over access to the Casa de la Cultura, creating the tactical conditions to unleash a brutal repression that ended with 3 deaths and several seriously wounded on the side of the people.

This time Conaie is calling for a new Assembly to define the course of the mobilisations.

There is no turning back, if there is something the leadership of the indigenous movement must decide, it is to make the leap from the Agenda of Struggle to the exit of the banker, everything they want to argue on the basis of this already falls into the field of opportunism, claudication and consequently betrayal.

This position of the Front for the Defence of the Struggles of the People is based on organisation, mobilisation and struggle. Yesterday, urban Maoist detachments resolutely fanned and fought the hosts of reaction; in the same way, the presence of peasant delegations of the Committee of Poor Peasants has remained firm in the twelve days of struggle, no different from what is happening in Imbabura, where the Workers' Defence Front of Imbabura in strategic alliance with the indigenous/peasant movement has firmly maintained the mobilisation and blockade of the different access points to the province and the city.

The resolution of the Assembly called by CONAIE must be coherent with the current situation, WE MUST REMOVE THE BANKER, we cannot and must not give up this objective.

The Front for the Defence of the Struggles of the People calls on all the organisations that are part of it, the organisations that have been generated and the conscious element of the class and the people to sustain the mobilisation with a national and indefinite character as long as the established plan and the exit of the banker are not fulfilled.

THERE IS NO ROOM FOR NEGOTIATION, THE BANKER'S EXIT IS THE ONLY SOLUTION!

TO THE TOP AND TO THE BOTTOM, UNTIL THE BANKER IS OVERTHROWN!

IT'S RIGHT TO REBEL!

ONLY WITH STRUGGLE CAN RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS BE WON!
