In the following, we want to give a brief overview of some of the armed actions suspected to have been carried out by the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) under the leadership of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) in ongoing People's War in India over the past week.

 

On March 24, on a stretch of two kilometers in the region of Orccha in Narayanpur, in the district of Bastar in Chhattisgarh Maoist poster were put up. No details are currently known about the exact content of the posters. 1

 

On March 23, an employee of the forest department, who was working as a police informer, was arrested and killed by suspected members of the PLGA. „The Maoists also left pamphlets threatening forest officials with dire consequences for their corrupt practices and also locals for being informers of police. […] In the pamphlets and letters, Maoists threatened forest rangers of all six ranges for not producing fake bills and vouchers for money. They also sought the support of villagers in fighting for the rights of the poor and women,” 2

 

On March 22 seven vehicles and machines engaged in a road construction work in a village in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district were set to fire by suspected maoist forces. „A group of armed ultras stormed the village and set afire the vehicles and equipment, including a mixture machine, a JCB (excavator), tractor and a water tanker […]“. According to the bourgeois press, the revolutionary forces were able to retreat without casualties after the successful attack. 3

 

On March 21, suspected combatants of the PLGA attacked a camp of teh Central Reserve Police Forces  in Chhattisgarh’s Elmagunda area in Sukma district. In the course of the encounter, at least three members of the reactionary security forces were injured. „The Maoists used country-made weapons to attack the security camp[…] The Maoists, besides firing, also hurled locally made grenades […]“.4
