On 4 February, militants of the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist (TKP/ML) blocked a street in the east of Istanbul with firebombs. They hung a banner on the street that read "Glory to our 50 years of struggle, TKP/ML-TIKKO". This action is in the light of the 50th anniversary of the TKP/ML, which was founded by the great communist Ibrahim Kaypakkaya in 1972.
Already on 29 January, a Dazibao appeared in Athens, Greece, also on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the TKP/ML and signed TKP/ML TIKKO.
