The recent week several actions were carried out (suspected) by the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army under the leadership of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) [CPI(Maoist)] in the ongoing People's War.


According to "Times of India" a police party were attacked by suspected members of the PLGA, wounding at least one of the reactionary security forces. Unfortunately, no further information were available at the time of going to press. 1


The same day a personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police were killed due the blast of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Kohkameta area in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. The incident took place when the 53rd battalion ot the ITBP were on a "Anti-Naxal" operation in the area. 2


On March 04, three constables of the State Jaguar Police, a special task force unit, were killed in an attack by the detonation of a Claymore (Anti-personnel mine) in the Chaibasa area of West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. The attack occured when the 197th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) and the 11th battalion ot the Jharkhand Jaguar’s Assault forces were on their way to reinforce an ongoing combing operation. 3


The same day a personnel of the Chhattisgarh armed forces were also killed by the detonation of an IED near Pahurnar village in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district during a patrolling to ensure security to a bridge construction in the area. According to the police District Reserve Guards (DRG) and CAF had launched the area-domination operation when an constable belonging to CAF's 22nd battalion, inadvertently stepped over the trigger. 4
