In the following we want to give a short brief on the actions (suspected) carried out by the People´s Liberation Guerilla Army(PLGA) under the leadership of the Communist Party of India (Maoist)[CPI(Maoist)] the ongoing People´s War.

On February 26, a police informer were killed in Pursalgondi village in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. According to "Uni India" the target were killed on its way to work. 1

 

On February 25, a member of the District Reserve Guards (DRG) were wounded during an "Anti-Maoist"operation of a joint team of DRG and Special task Forces (STF) in the forest near near Tekmetta village of the district of Narayanpur of Chhattisgarh. According to "Outlook India" the officer were hit by a bullet into his hand. There were allegedly more encounters in the area that day, but there are no reports of any casualties on the side of the Maoists. 2

 

On February 24, two members of the reactionary security forces were killed and one were wounded in three separate attacks in Chhattisgarh. In the morning hours an encounter between suspected combatants of the PLGA and forces of the DRG took place in the village of Kukur of Narayanpur district. In this exchange of fire one personnel of the DRG were killed, there are no reports on casualties on the side of the combatants. 3

 

Round about one hour later a personnel of the Chhattisgarh Armed Forces were injured due the blast of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), while being on duty with a joint police team, in the village of Karelaghati of Narayanpur district.4

 

In the evening a joint team of District Forces and Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) were attacked with a pipe bomb, probably in an ambush, killing one ITBP personnel, near the village of Sonpurof also in the district of Narayanpur. "5

 

On February 22, a personnel of the 160th Infantry Battalion of the Border Security Forces (BSF) were injured by the blast of a landmine during a combing operation in the Dal Dali forestin Malkangiri district of Andhra Pradesh. According to media reports the attack were carried out by combatants of the PLGA, which managed to retreat without any losses after the action. The search operation initiated by the reactionary forces after the attack was also unsuccessful. 6

 

Also on February 22, allegedly several handwritten posters signed by the CPI(Maoist) were found in Ajodhya hills, Kotshila and Balrampur of West Bengal’s Purulia district. According to "India Today" the posters demand among others a reduction of the prices for petrol and diesel and to cancel the new farm laws. 7
