The People´s Liberation Guerilla Army under the leadership of the Communist Party of India (Maoists) carried out several actions against the old Indian state in the recent week.

On May 15, a head constable of the Madhya Pradesh Police''s special `Hawk Force'' were wounded near the village of Thakur Tola in the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. The officer was on a search operation with about 20 furthers forces when they got ambushed by combatants of the PLGA. After the incident the reaction launched a new search operation without any success.

Also on May 15, a leaflet appeared in Kothagude in the dicstrict Cherla of Telenaga, signed with CPI (Maoist) Bhadradri Kothagudem-East Godavari Divisional Committee, denouncing the crimes and lies of the reaction and demanding higher wages for teachers from tribal areas. Before a shepherd was beaten to death by security forces at Udumpur, the leaflet warned the offenders, that they will be punished in public for this crime. Moreover, in recent weeks the reaction had repeatedly claimed, that the maoist were robbing grocery items from Adivasis, this was also denounced.

On May 12, an encounter took place between police and PLGA forces at the Bandgaon-Gudri border in West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand. There no reports of any losses.

On May 11, a CRPF jawan was killed in an encounter with Maoists in Bijapur district of Bastar region in Chhattisgarh. So far nothing is known about the details of the encounter.

On May 10, 13 heavy vehicles of a stone-crusher plant were torched at Chaparwar in the federal state of Bihar. According to the authorities the combatants asked the the employees to stop there work before they planted IEDs to the vehicles. Three trailers, one truck, eight tipper trucks and one payloader were damaged. In addition, a leaflet is said to have been left behind denouncing the working conditions and the environmental damage caused by the company.

On May 08, a sub inspector of the Chhattisgarh police forces were shot in an encounter in the forests of Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. The reaction claims to have also killed four members of the PLGA in the fight, what they can´t prove.
