Recently there were protests in 12 Lebanese so called "refugee camps" under the slogan "Enough, we want dignity". Palestinians make up 10% of the Lebanese population. Palestinians are classified as foreigners, refugees or stateless depending on current government, regardless if they were born in Lebanon or not. Roughly 2/3 of them are considered to be extremely poor with a very high level of unemployment.

The protests ignited a statewide crackdown on businesses that are hiring foreign workers and closure of two Palestinian businesses. Palestinians are banned from more than 20 proffessions such as law and engineering and medicine, they are only limited to work in construction, administrative roles and small crafts and need a special work permit.
The Palestinian protestors have set up a comitee and demand to clarify Palestinians status and they demand to have the same working rights as the Lebanese workers.
