Due to the increasing impoverishment of the masses through the overproduction crisis of imperialism, as part of the general crisis of imperialism, there are more and more confiscations and redistributions of food supplies by the masses in Brazil.

On July 16, the rice delivery of a truck involved in an accident on the BR-101 between Niterói and São Gonçaloin in the federal state of Rio de Janeiro distributed by proletarian masses. Deployed police forces tried to prevent the masses from distributing the food, but without any success. The driver of the crashed truck had voluntarily handed over the load to the masses.

On July 10, a redistribution action took place in the village of Corujas in the federal state of  Rio Grande do Sul and food was distributed locally, especially for those who did not receive emergency aid due to the government's delay. These actions were organized dozens of proletarian families.

Recently, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) published data from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (Continuous PNAD), showing that more than half of Brazil's working age population is unemployed (50.5%). In a situation where deprivation of basic rights such as food is worsening, confiscations are means that popular classes find to alleviate starvation. “
