"The UPEA demands the resignation of Evo"
On the 30th of November a big demonstration of members of the UPEA (Universidad Pública de El Alto) from El Alto to the Capital La Paz was attacked by the police. El Alto, which is the second biggest city of Bolivia (and until 1985 a district of La Paz), experienced a violent crackdown of protests, that left at least 5 injured and 30 detained. A strike and several blockade points in the city were announced by the struggling.
This protest in El Alto, what is supposed to be a bastion of Evo Morales, shows how the rebellious and hardened youth is fed up with the corruption that Evo‘s party practices in the universities of the country.
