After a demonstrator was killed Monday night by security forces in Tripoli, fierce unrest broke out across the country on Tuesday night.

In the city of Beirut and Tripoli protesters torched several banks, errected barricades and attacked soldiers with stones, wich used tear gas and rubber bullets to fight the masses. In Nabatieh and a Sidon banks were also set to fire. In the further course of the clashes several police cars were torched in Tripoli.

The Lebanese people are suffering heavily from the economic crisis, and the imposed curfews significantly increase the misery and poverty of the masses. According to estimates by the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs, 75% of the population is dependent on state aid. However, this aid is very limited if it exists at all
